Q: Can I feed just one ROTATIONS recipe or do you need to feed all three?
A: The choice is yours! You can choose to feed just one ROTATIONS® recipe or all three. Each individual ROTATIONS recipe is 100% nutritionally complete and contains a truly holistic mix of natural meats, fish, fruits to ensures that whether you choose to feed only one recipe or rotate through all of our recipes, your dog is getting the very best.
Q: Can I feed a different formula each day or do I have to finish one bag and then start the next?
A: Because of the unique formulation of all ROTATIONS Pet Food formulas, you can choose to feed a different flavor every day or even every meal.
Q: Why do you recommend twice-daily feeding on your packaging?
A: In most situations, it's best to feed your dog multiple meals per day. Large and giant breed dogs should be fed several small meals per day to prevent bloating. Small breed dogs may have a hard time eating enough food to meet their needs in a single large meal. Sometimes, dogs that are only fed a single meal per day may beg for food when you are eating your meals. However, there are some situations where single-meal feeding is best (dogs that are athletes or working dogs) and sometimes free-choice feeding is fine, as well. However, many dogs that are allowed free access to food become overweight, which has adverse effects on their health.
Q: Why should I use rotating dog food?
A: Rotating your pet's food provides your pet with a large array of benefits. One benefit is the variety of flavors you will be providing your pet can help prevent boredom or finicky behavior. A variety of unique protein sources provides varied amino nutrition, the building blocks of good health for your pet. Your pet will also receive a variety of carbohydrates sources to help prevent dietary intolerances and a variety of nutrients like anti oxidants that helps provide your pet with optimal health and longevity. In addition, since you are changing the specific ingredients your pets receive it helps avoid ingredient oversaturation that can cause allergies to ingredients over time.
Q: I have a giant breed dog. Should I moisten the food to prevent bloat?
A: Bloating is a life-threatening medical condition that affects deep-chested large and giant breed dogs. Scientists have worked long and hard to determine what causes bloat and how to prevent it. Moistening food is a good idea if it slows down a rapid eater. Gulping food can lead to swallowing air, which can lead to bloat. If your dog does not eat rapidly or gulp his food, moistening the dry kibble probably does not change his chances of bloating. It's a good idea to feed multiple small meals per day, as mentioned above.
Q: Will my dog get an upset stomach by changing to a different ROTATIONS recipe?
A: Because of our patent pending formulations you never had to worry about your dog getting an upset stomach going from one ROTATIONS recipe to the next. We keep even ratio’s of proteins, fat, fibers, carbohydrates and more from one recipe to the next. This means no transitioning from one recipe and no upset stomachs, guaranteed or your money back!
Q: My dog is eating grass. Is his stomach upset?
A: Some dogs will naturally graze, or eat grass and plants. If the behavior is not excessive or compulsive, there is nothing wrong with this. Grass eating doesn't mean your dog is sick, just that he likes eating grass! If dogs consume a large amount of grass, it can lead to vomiting because of the fibrous nature of the plant material.
Q: My dog has diarrhea. Is there something wrong with the food?
A: Diarrhea is a common complaint in pet-owning households. Dogs can have diarrhea for a variety of reasons including sudden diet change, intestinal parasites, viral infections, bacterial infections, garbage gut or dietary indiscretion, and medical problems such as inflammatory bowel disease or exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). ROTATIONS Pet Food is specially formulated for ease of digestion, and easy transition from one formula to the next.
Q: What are the natural flavors listed in the ingredients?
A: Chicken liver digest.
Q: Why isn't ROTATIONS Grain Free?
A: While certain grain free diets that don't just switch grains for carbs are great for dogs that compete athletically or are working dogs a protein content over 30% is high for dogs that aren't getting exercise all day. If you look closely many of the grain free diets on the market have been lowering their protein content for this exact reason. If a product claims to be grain free but has a normal protein content then all they've done is switch out grains for sugary carbohydrates like tapioca which isn't good for pets. We believe in a holistic approach using all the food groups including whole grains as a source of fiber in our diets. The key is we don't ever use filler grains like corn, wheat or soy to artificially inflate our protein content. Our protein comes from our all natural meats, poultries and fish.
Q: What is your salmon preserved with?
A: The salmon does not contain any preservatives.
Q: Why do you add salt to some of your formulas?
A: Dogs and cats have a dietary requirement for sodium and chloride, the two components of salt. To meet these needs, salt must be added to some of the formulations. Other formulas have adequate sodium and chloride from the other ingredients, making it unnecessary to add salt.
Q: What does the statement "Not recognized as an essential nutrient by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles" mean?
A: This does NOT mean that the nutrient is not approved for use. It does mean that this nutrient has not been found to be an essential requirement for survival, therefore is being added as a supplement to the food. An excellent example of this is omega-3 fatty acids. Although some omega-3s have been found to be required, not all have; therefore, this group of nutrients must be marked with this particular statement.
Q: Are all of your ingredients U.S. sourced?
A: Our whole ingredients come from United States with the exception of wild caught salmon which comes from Canada and our lamb which comes from New Zealand.
Q: Where are your foods made?
A: All of our foods are manufactured in the United States ensuring we get only the very best quality.
